Correctly implemented ads are key to optimizing a game’s revenue potential.
- Make sure that your game has a good balance of mid-roll ad-calls
Implementing more mid-roll ads calls results in more ad impressions and higher revenue, provided that users keep playing. Ideally, these mid-roll ad-calls are placed on all non-gameplay buttons, to spread the number of times users will see ads.
The ad interval is regulated through our SDK, so users will only see an ad when a set period of time has elapsed. This means that you do not have to worry about spamming users with an excessive amount of ad-calls that disrupt the flow of the game.
- Make clever use of rewarded ads
Rewarded ads bypass the ad-interval timer, since users actively ask to see this ad in exchange for an in-game reward. Adding attractive upgrades, temporary boosters, unlockable characters and skins, or level skips that can be accessed through rewarded ads can help boost your revenue significantly.
- Use display ads where possible
As long as it is not invasive to the gameplay experience, adding a display ad can also contribute to increasing revenue.
- Extended gameplay is another way to boost game revenue
When users frequently return to play your game, more ads will be displayed in total, earning you more revenue. Make sure that your game includes features that make it attractive for users to come back and spend more time enjoying your work. Some examples of features that have proven to increase player retention include:
- A large number of levels (the more the better)
- Unlockables (characters, weapons, etc.)
- Daily rewards
- Highscores
